MustRing FAQ
Why an alarm and not a notification, and what the app refuses to do.
How is MustRing different from a regular reminder or notification?
A notification can be silenced by the ringer switch or blocked by Focus. MustRing is built on iOS 26 AlarmKit, so it presents a real system alarm that rings through silent mode and Focus, with the system alarm UI and a Live Activity.
Does MustRing use mission-style tasks to get me out of bed?
No. That approach — QR codes, squats, stacked tasks — is explicitly out of scope. MustRing is for alarms where missing has a cost, not for morning wake-up gamification.
What is MustRing for?
Moments where missing is expensive: medication (take it, or skip and record why), pickups and arrival points, important dates like birthdays and anniversaries (annual, Gregorian or lunar), and the few ADHD critical tasks that deserve a real alarm.
Which iPhone versions are supported?
iOS 26.1 or later, because AlarmKit is the foundation the app is built on.
Why not just use the Clock app or Health medication reminders?
The Clock app has no medication log, the Health app is medication-only with per-medication Critical Alerts opt-in, and Reminders' Urgent alarms must be flagged per item. MustRing targets the gap: every alarm is a real alarm, with a log of what happened when one is missed.
What happens when I miss an alarm — is there a record?
Yes. For medication you either mark it taken or skip it with a reason, so there is an audit trail of what happened — the point of the app for the moments that matter.
How much does MustRing cost?
The download is free: same-day alarms and the basic record work without paying. A one-time purchase unlocks unlimited alarms, the template pack, escalation to a contact and full export. There is no subscription.
